The Vikings moved one step closer to their seventh straight Wisconsin Little Ten Conference title with a 66-55 win over West Bend West. It was the 31st consecutive home conference victory for Wisco.

The Vikings came out still stung from Friday's upset loss at Watertown, and played with a high level of effort and intensity to start the night. A 10-0 run in the first quarter gave Wisco a comfortable cushion, and a quick 7-0 run at the end of the second quarter gave the Vikings a 38-21 margin at the half. The Vikings turned the ball over just once in the game's first 16 minutes and pulled down 10 offensive rebounds over that same span to build a comfortable lead.

The Vikings picked up where the left off in the third quarter, running off 11 of the first 13 points of the second half to build a 26-point margin, 49-23, midway through the third quarter. The Spartans did not give up, however. They continued to fight and narrowed the Viking lead, but when the final buzzer sounded, Wisco had improved to 10-2 in the Little Ten.

Three Vikings scored in double figures and several more players put together nice games to lead the Viking effort. Chris Golden scored 22 points - including a thunderous alley-oop dunk in the third quarter - and pulled down 8 rebounds. Emilio Lopez scored 14 points and grabbed 7 boards, and Deiondre Cunningham scored 12 points and had 5 rebounds. Zach Ginster chipped in with 6 points and 3 steals, CJ Polk and Larry Moore provided sparks off the bench - 5 points and 6 boards for Polk and 4 assists and 3 deflections for Moore - and Andy DeNoyer led the defensive effort with 4 steals, 4 deflections, and a charge taken.

The Vikings travel to Slinger on Friday. A win will clinch at least a tie for a seventh straight conference championship. Game time is 7:30 PM.
